Home 2013 February Seeing the End of the Tunnel

Seeing the End of the Tunnel

After three days, we are starting to see the end of the tunnel. The top is almost done, the face has been started and the tunneling through in the back is very evident.

Carole is catching some sleep after digging all morning. Click for full size.

Theressa is using one of the new tools that were made for her by her cousin Rod. Thanks again Rod. Click for full size.

Our neighbors, Team France/Germany, was offered the use of the Z-Chisel and after a few minutes absolutely loved it. They want one of their own.

Carole is sanding one of the strands of hair on the backside of the block. Click for full size.

The back side is showing the negative space as the strands of hair are being carved out of the block. Click for full size.

Although it looks like there wasn’t much work done today, we have 4 of 5 snowflakes in place and the back has been hollowed out quite a bit. Click for full size.

We’ve had lots of positive comments about our maquette. The people are looking forward to seeing the final result … and you know what? So are we!!!
