Home 2013 February It’s Done, For Real!

It’s Done, For Real!

It’s Sunday morning and the official end of the Sculpture Symposium was last night at the Governor’s Ball. All the smart people are still sleeping and recovering from the week. That must mean Team Snow Art are not smart, because we were back at the site by 8:15am because Theressa and Terry had a 12:00pm flight to catch. We worked for an extra 30-40 minutes. We were pleased with the end results, even if the weather didn’t allow us to get any good photos. Perhaps somebody will get a good shot sometimes this week and allows us to post it.

Snow’s Magic is complete. All three of us agree that we weren’t happy with the way we left the sculpture on Saturday, the official end of the carve. After the time spent on the last few details, we are happy. Click for full size.

When designing a sculpture, Theressa looks at all angles to ensure that the sculpture is both artistic and interesting. Here is one of those angles. Looking up from almost the ground. Click for full size.

Here we are celebrating the real end of the carve. We had gone back on Sunday morning to complete a couple of details. The pose is a tribute to our friends in China. Click for full size.

Well, that’s it from Winnipeg folks. However, that’s not it for the sculpting season. On Fri, Feb 22 Theressa, Terry and Kim (the other member of Team Snow Art) will going up to Prince Albert, SK to compete in their Winter Festival. Of course we will be posting photos from there.
