Day 2 started out cold. It would be classified a happy cold. What is a happy cold you ask? It is one of those cold, crisp days that have a bright blue sky. However, as you can see in some of these photos, it did not stay happy. It didn’t warm up much either and we ended the day with falling snow.
The day saw Theressa on the block for almost the entire day, except when being pulled off of it for water breaks, meals, bathroom breaks and the odd “I think you should look at this” break. This usually happens when Carole (or which ever teammate is with us) or I are having a problem seeing something and/or need Theressa’s opinion (OK) to go ahead with what we’re doing.
We figure that almost half the block has now been removed. Before you ask, we use this snow to provide ramps or ledges to stand on when working around the block. However, when the bobcat comes by, this snow-stool is usually removed. We have to guard them with our lives if we don’t want to lose them.
We ended our day by working for over 2 hours after supper. It was a lonely walk out of the park as we were the last carvers working. We are quite happy with our progress, but Theressa always thinks that we could be just that much further ahead.
We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow as the bus leaves for breakfast at 7:15am and we won’t be back in the hotel until sometime around 9pm. We are being introduced at the opening ceremonies after supper and then it is back to the park sculpting for a while. Perhaps our captain will let us go home early if we work hard and get plenty done.
