Home 2012 February Day 1 in Edmonton — It’s in the Books

Day 1 in Edmonton — It’s in the Books

Our day started off very slow due to both of us being under the weather. Theressa woke up this morning feeling better than she has but still below her optimum. Terry, who picked up his cold from Theressa, did not sleep at all. We decided to delay our start by 90 minutes.

Once we got to the festival site we got working very quickly as it was very sunny and the temperature was expected to be above 0C.

A row of blocks as far as the eye could see … 15 teams are participating in the competition.

Terry is holding up our model of what we are planning — Playful Imaginings

In anticipation of the sun we tried to come prepared.

Theressa working the saw, something she doesn’t normally do when we have somebody working with us.

Theressa is working on cutting out small blocks to build up the child front of the main block

We ended up working for two hours after supper in which we were able to put all the blocks needed for the child in place. Our hope is that they freeze together and become one block that will be easy to carve.

The weather is supposed to cooperate more tomorrow, but we will wait and see.
