We finished in the nick of time. We were carving right up to 4:30pm today. After 68 hours of combined carving (Theressa and Terry full-time and Kara part-time) over 4 days of cold, wind, lots of sun during the first couple days and later on the last day, we put our shovels, chisels, sanders and scrapers down.
We were happy with our result. Over the four days we heard many positive remarks from young and old. We had young spectators who sat and watched patiently. We asked some people walking by the back of the block “what do you think it is?” A common answer was snail or seashell. We think one of the better answers was “cinnamon bun”.
We are heading back in the morning to get some more shots in the sun, especially of the face.
