It is only a couple of weeks until Halloween and Theressa was feeling a bit anxious because she hadn’t picked out the pumpkins she was going to carve. So, after voting in our federal election we went pumpkin hunting (shopping) and found 6 that did not want to be left behind. At least that is was Theressa said.
For the uninitiated, pumpkin hunting is a complex experience. Size and shape, color, how it sits and stem size are some of the things pumpkin hunters look for. Also, you want to make sure that the pumpkin is heavy for it’s size as this is a good indication of the thickness of the outer carving flesh. The last thing that needs to be looked for is signs of rot or molds.
Here is the results of this afternoons’ hunt. As you can see, there is a bottle in the photo … it is only there for size comparison.
In addition to these pumpkins, Theressa has been asked to carve at the Reflections Art Festival (Reflections Art Show – Pumpkin Carving).
Here are some examples of Theressa’s past work.
