Team Snow Art wins First Place at Prince Albert Winter Festival

After plenty of confusion to start the competition and way too much sun and warmth, we took first prize for our piece Fish Goggles.

Here is the front view that nobody will see. We had to move the fence out of the way to get the shot.

Here we are after 3 days and about 70 hours in total, posing at the side of the sculpture. Way too much energy methinks!!

As people were walking by, and in some cases touching the sculpture, we heard many comments and questions. Most of the questions were along the line of “how long did it take” and “what is it”. The most common comment was “look at the Viking Helmet”.

Funny thing about our sculpture. Many people, when looking at the sculpture from behind as they climbed the hill, thought we were doing a Viking Helmet. However, once the two fish on the ground were finished, they knew exactly what they were. It took a while to clue into the main sculpture.
