Happy New Year !!!
Actually, it’s Happy New Tear’s Eve. The countdown has started for Harbin. We leave in exactly one week. What does that mean now?
We have started preparing by paring down our tools that we are taking. In past years we have flown with almost 100 pounds of tools, but we are now down to about 60 pounds. Split between three bags and we’ll have room for boots and mitts and other important things. It’ll also give us room to pick up some souvenirs in China.
The next thing is looking after the laundry and figuring out what we’ll need for carving and for sightseeing. The projected forecast is daytime highs of -15C with is quite nice. We’ll keep watching just in case it starts to dip. Extra woolies and all might need to be packed.
Other important things to worry about is money (wish us luck in getting some), medications (done), passports (done) and food (not done). We aren’t sure of the rules for bringing in things for personal use, so any help would be appreciated.
Anyways, let’s hope that we have good access to the internet so that we can keep the blog as current as possible.
Have a safe and happy new year !!!!
