Wind chill warning? Time to build another block!

Just because the weather channel gives us a wind chill warning doesn’t mean we have to quit working on the block. Saturday night we took the tarps off the main block and set up the secondary block in front.

In the past, we shoveled the snow into the form by hand and Theressa would stomp it down. We thought we’d try out our new snow blower this time. It worked great and gave us some nice powder which started to set up almost as it fell.

Theressa is the target once again, only this time we are using a snowblower to fill the form. Click photo for full size.

Blowing the snow into the form requires somebody standing in the form holding a backstop. Click photo for full size.

Theressa is holding the wood and directing the snow into the form. She will then pack it down. Click photo for full size.

Using a snowblower results in fewer large chunks of snow in the block and allows the snow to set up quicker. Click photo for full size.

Our friend, Steve, helped us and we made great time. We should be able to finish it off within a couple of hours.
