Yorkton 2021 – Day 1

Well folks, hats off to the many sculptors who have braved the cold so far this winter. I’ve heard many comments like … “it’s too cold to carve, they must cancel it for you”. When I tell the speaker that no, they don’t cancel, they look at me and say “are you nuts”? I just nod my head.

We started our second of three sculptures today. I posted the weather report yesterday and they were true to their word. However, they are saying it might be a balmy -14C for the next couple of days. Actually, that is way better than the +2C forecast next week.

Now, for some photos.

Yes, we are crazy. Ask us what we are doing the next time you see us.
First cut. Used the wire rope saw.

Terry is using a chainsaw to make quick work of some of the cuts.
Theressa is on the block looking for the boys head.

Up close with Theressa.

The exciting news today was that Theressa was asked to do an interview for CTV News.
