Before we talk about the sculpture we want to send a shout out to all the volunteers who made our day seem so much easier. From the folks who were on snow removal to the kind souls who brought hot tea (with a nice pick me up added), hot wine, and tasty treats, you volunteers were great. Thank you.
Also, we were surprised by a visit from a couple of friends who live down the road in Udine. Walter and Franseca are snow and sand carvers that we met in Winnipeg several years ago.
Now, we had a busy day that saw us dealing with warm weather, soft snow and icy patches. That said, we moved some snow and by the end of the day we found a good chunk of the sculpture. We hope it gets cold tonight so that the parts we exposed freeze up.
Now for the photos …
